Halogen is committed to obey Jesus’ command in Acts 1:8: “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”  Our global focus means we minister in our local backyard and around the world.

Mexico

Each year we send a team to minister to our extended church family in Cuernavaca, Mexico.  We join together with Pastor Miguel and his church, Iglesia Bautista, either during Easter break or early Fall.  We partake in four main ministry areas including Children’s VBS, Construction, Women’s Ministry, and Clothing Disbursement.  Furthermore, we develop relationships with children and teenagers as well as provide clothes, toys, and health services for the people of the village.

The Halogen Music Writing group is a partnership of musically-minded people who meet to share, play and write music for and with each other, with the purpose of glorifying the Lord.

Music has long been a spiritually powerful way for humans to connect with and express praise to God. Where our language falls short of expressing the greatness of God, music helps to bridge the gap between our love for Him and the inability to convey it adequately with words alone.

The only true goal we have as a group is to worship and praise our Creator and Redeemer.  We would love to see this group grow to a point where it could create an income stream for Halogen and its music writers (through an in-house publishing company), and revitalize the Christian music industry.  But whether this happens or not, our one and only goal is to praise God for His goodness.

The group meets every third Monday of the month.  Please email me for more information.

All the Levites who were musicians—Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun and their sons and relatives—stood on the east side of the altar, dressed in fine linen and playing cymbals, harps and lyres. They were accompanied by 120 priests sounding trumpets.  The trumpeters and musicians joined in unison to give praise and thanks to the LORD. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, the singers raised their voices in praise to the LORD and sang:
"He is good;
his love endures forever."
Then the temple of the LORD was filled with the cloud, and the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled the temple of God.

The Halogen Sports Alliance is a ministry designed to create great fellowship, fun and exciting times through sporting events.  In addition, our sports ministry provides an opportunity for believers to interact with non-believers, not in a way that creates unnecessary pressure, but in a setting where they will feel comfortable and we will honor our call to exemplify holiness and proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ through our words and actions.

Join us for beach volleyball, basketball, and other sporting events.  There are also upcoming opportunities to join leagues and participate in different sports tournaments like 3 on 3 basketball and a ping pong.  Stay tuned for more information at our Halogen service or on our web calendar.

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.  Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.

The Halogen Community Service Ministry (CSM) seeks to serve people. We look both within our church family and outside the walls of our church building to show the love of God by meeting the tangible needs of our community.

Having faith in a God that loves us means that we must love one another and care for each other's needs. The CSM Team has coordinated volunteers for such activities as delivering meals. yard clean-ups, beach clean-ups, and spending quality time with the elderly. If you know of a need in the community, please contact Megan at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.

The purpose of Paraclete Ministries is to offer avenues of hope for people who desire both help and healing in some aspect of life.  One characteristic of this ministry includes assisting people who wish to put into practice that which they have heard or felt during the sermon or any other aspect of the Halogen service.  In other words, making sermons applicable and actionable.

The Meaning of Paraclete

In Greek Paraclete means, “once called alongside.”  A variety of meanings are derived from this word including “Advocate,” “Comforter,” “Encourager,” “Exhorter,” and “Helper.”  Thus, Halogen Paraclete Ministries will come alongside those who desire assistance as advocates, comforters, encouragers, exhorters, and helpers.

Halogen Paraclete Ministry Contact

A person interested in receiving help from the church can do so in three ways.  First, they can mark the appropriate box on the connection card in the Halogen bulletin.  Second, they can approach the Lead Pastor and/or Paraclete Ministry Leader in person.  Third, they can send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. I decided to lead a men's ministry after experiencing the transforming power of godly relationships with my brothers in Christ in my spiritual journey.  God created us as relational beings, not as stand alone pillars as some of us would be led to believe.  Even our Lord Jesus Christ surrounded himself with his disciples and looked to them for support in his darkest hour.  In the same way, married or single, if we stand alone then we stand in isolation and that is a recipe for spiritual death.

If you come to Halogen then please come talk to me, but wherever you may be - please get connected. We have monthly meetings, which include discussion, fellowship, and a fun bonding activity.  I especially encourage men to join one our men's small groups as well.

So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill.  As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. When Moses' hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset. So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword.

Halogen Womens Ministry has been established in order to help the women of Halogen build a sense of Christ centered unity, realize personal identity, value & mission in Christ, and encourage spiritual transformation.  We work towards accomplishing that goal through intimate small group interaction, regular womens events and annual retreats with intense spiritual emphasis.

Your job is to speak out on the things that make for solid doctrine...Guide older women into lives of reverence so they end up as neither gossips nor drunks, but models of goodness. By looking at them, the younger women will know how to love their husbands and children, be virtuous and pure, keep a good house, be good wives. We don't want anyone looking down on God's Message because of their behavior.

Our mission is to create a safe, fun, and loving environment where your children will learn about God’s love and the truths of the Bible.

Our Children’s Ministry volunteers are all background checked

Procedure

Our check in procedure consists of the parent or legal guardian signing their child(ren) in and filling out a 3 part numbered name tag.  A large sticker is placed on your child’s back, a small sticker is placed on your child’s bag, and you take the stub.  It is important that you retain the stub to turn in when you pick up your child.  Please sign in your child before you enter the sanctuary for worship.

If your child is sick, has a fever, cough, or runny nose, we ask that you please keep them home to prevent spreading any sickness in our nursery.  If our volunteers notice any of these symptoms, they will ask that you keep your child with you.

We provide a small snack and water or juice for your child during our service.

Fun

From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise

-    Psalm 8:2

The first Sunday of every month is Family Sunday.  Once you have signed your child(ren) into the nursery, please take them to the sanctuary to join the rest of the church fellowship in worship.  After our time of singing together, our worship leader will dismiss the children and our children's ministry leaders will escort them to the nursery.  Each week our leaders provide a fun craft for the children.

Loving

Our volunteers are here to love your children, and through that, teach them about the love of Christ.  Our volunteers are dedicated to making sure your children feel safe, loved, and free to have fun with other children.

Learning

Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.  These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.  Impress them on your children.  Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up

- Deuteronomy 6:5-7

After worship, the children are divided into 2 classes, Kindergarten and younger, and 1st through 5th grade.  Each class studies the same lesson in age appropriate formats that include a teaching, sometimes a short DVD presentation, a craft, and prayer time.  We encourage you to ask your children, “What did you learn today?”  We also encourage you to continue the discussion throughout the week.

Our church has a heart for the entertainment industry.  Halogen Productions is an attempt to move forward the Kingdom of God in and through Hollywood.  Our mission is to innovatively make disciples who authentically walk with Jesus in a community of faith.  Our venture is to proclaim the message of Truth and salvation through avenues such as media, film, and theater.  In doing so, we aim to destroy the masks of an airbrushed society and cultivate a nurturing environment for people to open their hearts to the Lord and be healed.

The responsibilities of being a part of this team include being dedicated to participating in writing, producing, acting, filming, editing, or stage building for our productions.  Moreover, we aim to produce only quality work with an impacting message.

Passage of the Week
Who is wise and understanding among you?  Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom...the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

James 3:13, 17
