Teams and Family Groups
By definition, a Christian does not go to church but is the church. When we read passages such as Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12, and Ephesians 4 we get the picture that the people of God are to get involved in serving and being served by one another. At Halogen, we understand what it means to experience difficulties and strenuous times. In life, we will go through times of hardship. Yet the Bible teaches us to cast our burdens or cares upon the Lord and He will sustain us (Psalm 55:22). We are not meant to carry our burdens in life. Most of our life’s burdens need to be carried with good help from a loving faith community that will give us strength. The Apostle Paul tells us that we are not meant to carry our burdens alone, but we as a family need to carry the burdens of one another (Galatians 6:1-2).
Being a part of the Halogen family includes getting to know the people who sit next to, behind, and in front of you in the service. We value teams and family groups because we feel people can grow on a deeper level in their spiritual journey through small group interaction.
Our Halogen teams operate as avenues for people to get involved and serve both our church and the community. The time commitments for teams are usually one year. Our teams consist of people with energy, creativity, and a heart for the Lord. Please click on one of the links and see if one or more of our teams grabs your attention. Feel free to contact the team leader with any questions you may have.
Our Halogen family groups are relational communities that serve three purposes including discipleship, fellowship, and ownership. Family group participants have the opportunity to ask questions, provide input, and gain better understanding of biblical and spiritual insights. Some groups go through different books of the Bible; others deal with different life issues (marriage, healing, parenting, etc); and others allow people to express their talents (song writing, creative cooking, art, etc).
